MY STORY

My name is M. Borgella. I am the Owner/Artist and CEO of Yes Lioness Arts. I was born & raised in Brooklyn, New York. As a child I was very influenced by the Arts, Culture & Fashion world. I discovered my passion for Art at the ripe old age of five, and I have been creating ever since.

 I attended the High School of Art in Design and went on the complete my BFA degree in the field of Illustration in 1997. I then went on to complete her MS degree in Education.

After several years as an Arts educator, I decided to travel and become a full-time Artist and created Yes Lioness Arts in 2003.

Through social media I gained a massive following and began to develop a relationship with my audience. I began as a fine artist with canvas paintings, gallery showings and art prints. Over the years I have expanded my offerings to include clothing, stationery items and gifts.

As a New Yorker, I was heavily influenced by high fashion as well as urban street style. I blend her own love of art, culture and personal style to to create items for Black women that they will LOVE!

Although I have been in business for over twenty years,  my mission remains the same. To represent Black women in a Beautiful, Unique, Creative Style that honors our identity. To be Bold and unafraid to be seen. To express our Creativity and impeccable taste however we choose. To never be silenced by the crowd or afraid to be ourselves. To be courageous and know ourselves to be Powerful, Gifted and claim our rightful place in the world.
